ABOUT PRODUCTID 42915
The IKEA LÖVBACKEN coffee table is a contemporary reinterpretation of the iconic LÖVET model from 1953, celebrated as the first IKEA product designed for self-assembly in a flat-pack. Its distinctive, asymmetrical leaf-shaped top is crafted from veneered wood in a warm, medium-brown tone with a pronounced, chevron-patterned wood grain. A matte finish highlights the natural quality of the material. The table stands on three slender, tapered legs in deep matte black, each capped with a brass-colored accent—an elegant touch that echoes mid-century modern aesthetics and the refined optimism of the 1950s. Proportions are balanced: the elongated, organic top and splayed legs lend the piece visual lightness and a genuinely minimalist character. The table is in very good condition, showing only minor signs of use such as light scratches, with no structural damage.LÖVBACKEN’s form recalls the spirit of postwar optimism—a time when design aimed to be accessible, practical, and full of surprising solutions. The organic line of the tabletop tells a story in which nature inspires everyday objects, while the warm veneer and gleaming brass accents discreetly reference a return to craftsmanship and simplicity. Though contemporary, the table seems to whisper tales of Swedish modernism and the democratic approach to design that reshaped modern interiors.LÖVBACKEN
