ABOUT PRODUCTID 30476
This flush mount, designed by Helena Tynell for the German manufacturer Glashütte Limburg, represents a classic example of late 1960s lighting. The shade is crafted from thick, pressed 'bubble glass' with a bold, organic texture reminiscent of frothing water or molten crystal. Its warm amber hue, with subtle golden highlights, casts spectacular light effects and decorative shadows across the ceiling or wall when illuminated. The lamp's profile is harmonious—a low, wide cylinder measuring 24 cm in diameter and 11 cm in height. The metal base remains hidden once mounted, and the overall construction is solid and precise, with no visible joints. This fixture features a standard E27 socket, suitable for decorative Edison-style bulbs. Condition is very good: the glass is free from chips or cracks, the base bears only minor, inconspicuous signs of age, and the original socket is fully functional. This piece embodies the spirit of Northern European modernism and tells the story of a time when artistic freedom met exceptional craftsmanship at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s. The shade, like a wave frozen in amber, captures both the lightness and dynamism of its era, serving as a tangible artifact of mid-century design. As light passes through the bubbled surface, it diffuses into myriad reflections—almost as if the lamp preserves a fragment of a golden summer afternoon within its glass
