ABOUT PRODUCTID 36261
This early 20th-century jardinière, produced by the Verit Association in Warsaw, exemplifies the highest standards of Polish silver-plated metalwork. The elliptical body, crafted from silver-plated pewter, features an openwork, basket-like form accented with historicist and Art Nouveau motifs—from stylized acanthus leaves to symmetrical scrolls and floral ornamentation. Elaborately shaped handles and four sculpted feet adorned with leaf motifs enhance the piece's architectural presence. The original cut crystal liner inside brilliantly refracts light, lending an airy elegance to the whole structure. The surface displays a cool silver tone with a matte-satin finish, and every detail showcases precise, seamless craftsmanship. The jardinière is preserved in very good condition—complete, with no visible damage or repairs, retaining its original crystal insert and metal frame. This jardinière gives voice to an era when history and modernity intertwined across city interiors. Its organic lines and openwork columns evoke a longing for old-world artistry, while also speaking to the boldness of early 20th-century Warsaw workshops introducing a touch of theatrical lightness into everyday homes. The crystal insert, scattering light in a play of reflections, whispers of grand gatherings where form and function held equal value. The piece may be displayed on a classic sideboard or a contemporary console—its elliptical silhouette and silvery sheen fitting comfortably within both Art Deco-inspired spaces and eclectic collector's interiors. It could be paired with other period objects—silver-plated dishes, crystal goblets, or porcelain—to highlight its historicist character. In a modern setting, the jardinière can serve as a single statement accent, offering contrast yet harmony in a
