This set of six glasses from the Atlantis series, designed by Per Lütken for Holmegaard in Denmark in the 1980s, exemplifies mature Scandinavian functional design. Crafted from thick, semi-transparent glass in a smoky blue-grey hue, each glass features gently rounded, organic contours with a wide, stable base that tapers gracefully toward the rim. The most distinctive element is the sculptural, clear handle with a 'spiked' or thorn-like design, offering a playful contrast to the smooth, fluid body. Each handle is hand-applied, and the precise finish speaks to Holmegaard’s craftsmanship and Lütken’s mastery.
