ABOUT PRODUCTID 35110
This set of two ceramic bowls, signed by the Swedish manufacturer Rörstrand and dating from the 1960s, is a notable example of Scandinavian modernism. Crafted from robust stoneware, the bowls carry a satisfying weight and durability. Their form is restrained, with smoothly contoured walls gently descending to a rounded base. The color palette is dominated by a warm beige with a fluid gradient shifting into browns, olive, and ochre tones, particularly pronounced towards the edges. The interiors are adorned with concentric rings in browns and yellows, while the glossy glaze lends a subtle sheen to the surface. Inside, a delicate speckled stoneware texture is visible, contrasted by the slightly more matte exterior. The bowls retain their original character and manufacturer's signature. Condition is very good—minimal signs of use and a delicate patina are barely noticeable. The set has been refreshed, with no mechanical damage.
These bowls echo the voice of Swedish modernism, where simplicity of form and subtlety of color celebrate an appreciation for everyday beauty. The warm, earthy gradients and geometric ring patterns evoke Scandinavian landscapes washed in northern light. The stoneware—substantial and smooth to the touch—suggests pieces that respectfully fit into the daily rhythm of the home, whether during a family breakfast or an evening gathering. Each bowl, with its balanced silhouette and tranquil palette, seems to whisper of the harmony
