This Ü-Keramik vase from the 1960s exemplifies West German mid-century modern ceramics and belongs to the iconic 'fat lava' movement. Crafted from robust ceramic, it features a compact, bulbous body with a gently narrowing neck and a subtly flared rim. The central section is covered in a vivid, saturated orange-red glaze, accentuated by irregular yellow speckles, evoking the dynamic flow of molten lava. Both the top and bottom sections are finished in a cool, matte dark gray glaze, with organically undulating borders that contrast strikingly against the glossy middle band. The surface transitions from smooth and lustrous at the center to matte and slightly rough at the ends. The base is signed 'W. Germany: 536', confirming its authenticity and period.
