ABOUT PRODUCTID 14894
The Staiger alarm clock from the 1980s presents a distinct example of German ‘space age’ design, embodying the era's quest for modern, geometric forms and functional minimalism. Its body is crafted from matte white plastic with gently rounded edges, offset by a cool, satin-grey dial that features crisp white Arabic numerals and linear markers. The white rectangular hands are underscored by a red center cap, while the thin red second hand and two vivid red levers (for the alarm button and top activation bar) introduce playful visual accents without sacrificing legibility. The molded plastic housing exhibits precision with virtually invisible seams, and the transparent lens protects the clock face. Most of the compact front is occupied by the dial, resulting in a balanced and considered composition. Powered by a single AA battery—an emblematic hallmark of 1980s functional objects—the clock is in very good vintage condition: all parts are original, with no signs of significant repairs and only minimal, natural traces of age visible on matte surfaces. This small object resonates with the voice of the 1980s: its white body
