ABOUT PRODUCTID 290
This early 20th-century Austrian apothecary bottle exemplifies the refined glassware of the Art Nouveau era. Crafted from highly transparent, colorless crystal, the geometric body gently tapers upward, featuring broad, angular shoulders and a short cylindrical neck. The multi-faceted, cut glass stopper echoes the bottle's crisp lines, while the smooth, polished surface reflects light with clarity. The front bears a rectangular, white enameled label inscribed 'TINCT. LIGNOR.' in black serif lettering, adorned with hand-painted, deep red motifs: three bows linked by garlands and vertical ribbons, and three small geometric squares beneath. The decorative composition is symmetrical and well-balanced, characteristic of Austrian Secessionist aesthetics. Condition: good, with minor, typical traces of use and slight internal residue, but no visible chips or cracks. This bottle resonates with the spirit of the turn of the 20th century, when utilitarian objects were shaped by ideals of beauty and craftsmanship. The crystal cuts light with austere precision, while the hand-painted enamel conjures the ambience of historic pharmacies where every detail mattered. Bows and garlands tell of a world in which daily life was infused with care for form and artisanal skill. The bottle may be displayed on a wooden console or in a glass cabinet, where the interplay of light will accentuate the crystal cut and subtle enamel work. It would suit interiors inspired by Art Nouveau or eclectic collecting, finding its place among historic vases, antique books, or silverware. Pairing with a dark backdrop will enhance its transparency, while surrounding it with greenery will highlight its natural, historic decorative character.
