ABOUT PRODUCTID 42105
Designed by Josef Hoffmann and produced by TON in Czechoslovakia during the 1930s, this armchair is a refined variation of the classic '811' Thonet & Hoffman model. The frame is crafted from blonde bent oak with a satin finish, highlighting the natural wood grain and lending a gentle sheen. Both the seat and backrest are upholstered in original gold velvet, featuring a plush, deep mustard tone that captures and reflects the light. Elegantly curved armrests and seamlessly joined bentwood elements form a fluid silhouette, referencing both modernist and classic Thonet traditions. The chair’s proportions are carefully balanced: a slightly wider seat and subtly splayed legs provide stability and comfort. The piece is in restored condition—free from signs of heavy use, preserving its original upholstery and bearing the manufacturer’s label. The price is for one chair; 40 pieces are available. This design resonates with the voice of Central European modernism: the bentwood structure speaks of artisanal precision, eschewing unnecessary ornament in favor of quiet allure. The golden velvet—soft to the touch and visually rich—evokes the interwar era’s sense of cultivated comfort, where aesthetics and function met in daily rituals. The chair almost seems to whisper stories of a time when every detail mattered, its lines guiding everyday gestures toward calm and harmony. This armchair can
