ABOUT PRODUCTID 34212
This original armchair from the 1950s exemplifies Central European modernism with strong Art Deco influences, reminiscent of the Halabala school. Its gently curved silhouette is defined by pronounced, flowing wooden armrests and legs, finished in a dark brown, semi-matte lacquer. The upholstery features a vibrant, warm palette—horizontal stripes in shades of red, orange, and pink create a subtle multicolored effect. The fabric is distinctly textured and slightly coarse, characteristic of mid-century furniture. The seat, constructed on springs, remains resilient, while the padded seat and backrest offer substantial comfort. Visible signs of age—abrasions and chips in the lacquer on the armrests and legs, as well as localized wear and fading on the seat fabric—attest to the chair’s authentic vintage condition. The structure remains sturdy, with all joints intact, and the chair retains its original character and patina, having not undergone contemporary restoration. Condition: very good vintage, with typical signs of use and patina consistent with furniture from the 1950s. This armchair echoes the postwar spirit of Central Europe—a time when functionalism and ornamentation converged in the language
