The DAX chair by Charles and Ray Eames exemplifies a timeless design that, while originating between 1948 and 1950, is presented here in a contemporary edition produced by Vitra in Germany in the 21st century. Crafted from molded plastic in a very pale, cool pistachio or mint green, the chair displays a uniform color across the seat and backrest. Its signature integrated armrests and organic, flowing lines embody the mid-century modern aesthetic, complemented by four slender, slightly splayed legs in polished chrome-plated steel. The legs terminate in black plastic glides to protect the floor. Visible metal fixings connect the shell to its base—a detail characteristic of the Eames' functionalist vision. The chair’s proportions are balanced, and the matte finish subtly diffuses light, lending a soft, contemporary appearance.
