ABOUT PRODUCTID 35283
The Fanett armchair, attributed to Ilmari Tapiovaara, is a hallmark of Swedish design from the 1950s, embodying mid-century modern and Scandinavian minimalist principles. Crafted from solid wood, it incorporates both beech and teak elements, visible in the contrasting color scheme: a warm, satin-matte brown seat juxtaposed with deep black, semi-matte legs, spindles, and an ergonomically curved backrest with integrated armrests. Characteristic of Scandinavian craftsmanship are the slender, tapered legs, delicate spindles, and single-piece contoured backrest. The seat is gently shaped for comfort, and a cross-brace beneath provides structural support. The chair is stable and relatively heavy, underscoring its solidity. Preserved in good vintage condition—with localized patina, minor scratches, and wear marks, especially on the armrests and seat edges—it has been refreshed yet remains in its original state, retaining the authentic spirit of the 1950s. The Fanett chair speaks with the voice of an era when Scandinavian interiors explored the interplay between function and aesthetics. Its clean, spacious lines invite pause—the chair seems to evoke quiet afternoons by the window, where light highlights the wood grain and the black spindles contrast with the softness
