ABOUT PRODUCTID 9584
The H-269 armchair, designed by Jindřich Halabala for UP Zavody in Czechoslovakia, represents post-war mid-century modernism from the 1950s. The construction is distinguished by wide, fluidly bent armrests and legs, each crafted from a single piece of solid beech wood using the Thonet-inspired bending technique. The wood tells a story of searching for harmony between function and expression, while the grey fabric recalls interiors where modernity met everyday comfort. The H-269 seems to invite moments of repose; its substantial yet softly contoured lines evoke a time when furniture was considered both
