The Model 53 armchair, designed by Jaroslav Šmídek and produced by TON in Czechoslovakia during the 1960s, stands as a testament to mid-century modern design. The chair features a solid bent beech wood frame, finished in a warm oak stain and sealed with a semi-matte lacquer that subtly highlights the natural grain. Elegantly curved armrests flow seamlessly into splayed, sculpted legs, giving the piece both stability and a sense of lightness. The seat and backrest are upholstered in a high-quality, cool light blue fabric with a matte finish and a fine, slightly textured weave.
