ABOUT PRODUCTID 5840
The Lusch Erzeugnis lounge chair from the 1960s exemplifies German modernism, where organic shapes are paired with technical craftsmanship. The construction is based on a lightweight tubular metal frame, painted in off-white or light beige, showing visible signs of age and patina. The wide, bowl-shaped seat is crafted from several stitched panels of natural suede leather in an olive-beige shade; its matte, softly textured surface creates a subtle contrast with the cool structure of the frame. The back of the chair is accentuated with laced detailing, while the armrests are wrapped in a light cord or synthetic rattan, adding an additional tactile accent. The legs are straight and slightly splayed, with the original foot caps missing. Overall, the chair is preserved in good vintage condition – natural wear on the suede, some localized discolorations, and minor paint losses on the frame are consistent with its era. This form echoes the spirit of the 1960s: the chair seems to whisper of a time when comfort was meant to have a soft outline, and the designer searched for harmony between nature and industry. The olive suede recalls interiors where light settled gently on matte surfaces, and geometric seams emphasized the sculptural shape. The lacing and hand-wrapped armrests reveal attention to detail, while the airy frame invites relaxed lounging without dominating the space. The chair may be paired with a low, simply lined table—ideally in wood or glass—to accentuate its open, modernist silhouette
