This lounge armchair, designed by Alf Svensson for the Swedish brand Dux in the late 1960s, epitomizes the space age movement within mid-century modern design. The chair features a molded plastic shell in a warm off-white, matte and slightly aged finish, complemented by substantial, deeply tufted brown leather cushions. The seat and armrests are fitted with thick, soft leather pads that rest effortlessly on the sculptural shell. The entire piece is supported by a four-star, matte white aluminum swivel base, allowing for smooth rotation. The form is organic, with generous proportions that emphasize both comfort and a forward-thinking approach to ergonomics. Visible patina, scuffs, subtle discoloration on the shell, and creasing and cracking on the leather—especially on the seat and armrests—testify to its authentic vintage use.
