ABOUT PRODUCTID 19789
This glass bonbonniere, attributed to the Moser workshop, represents the craftsmanship of 1930s Czechoslovak art deco. Made from substantial, cold-toned green transparent glass, the bonbonniere features a symmetrical octagonal body merging seamlessly into a matching lid topped with a large diamond-shaped finial. The entire surface is hand-faceted—each cut perfectly polished, enhancing the play of light and intensifying the glass’s deep green hues. There are no metal or colored accents, only highly lustrous glass. The technique used achieves the clarity and purity characteristic of Czechoslovak art deco. The bonbonniere is preserved in very good vintage condition—only a few minor internal marks are visible, with no chips or cracks. The form of this piece echoes the spirit of interwar modernism, when glass was meant to be both a daily object and a work of art. The multifaceted cuts carry light across the body, shifting the green from delicate to intense, drawing the eye to every change of angle. The geometric lid with its diamond finial seems to invite curiosity—telling stories of salons and gatherings, where the sparkle of crystal quietly witnessed intimate moments and leisurely evenings. This bonbonniere could serve as a decorative accent on a console or bookshelf in a living room, or as a practical container for confections and accessories. The faceted glass harmonizes with other art deco collectibles, porcelain with geometrical patterns, or chrome accents. It could also be juxtaposed with minimalist, modern interiors—the solid glass form making a strong statement against a neutral palette or exposed wood. In a collector’s setting, the bonbonniere will attract attention on its own, positioned to let light highlight its reflections and striking lines.
