ABOUT PRODUCTID 4518
This jardiniere, produced between 1926 and 1939 by the J. Stolle 'Niemen' glassworks in Brzozówka, Poland, represents the largest model from its series and is crafted from pressed glass in a cool blue hue. Measuring 31 cm in length, 13 cm in width, and 12 cm in height, the piece features an oval body adorned with a geometric, radiating motif typical of Art Deco, accentuated by rhythmic grooves and faceted segments reminiscent of stylized flower petals. The color intensifies towards the base and gradually lightens towards the rim, imparting a luminous effect to the whole. The surface alternates between matte and glossy sections, enhancing the interplay of light and shadow across the form. The bottom is meticulously ground and polished. The jardiniere is preserved in excellent condition, free from damage or signs of wear. This object embodies the narrative of 1930s Polish Art Deco, a time when modernism met decorative boldness and pressed glass enabled sculptural expression. The radiating pattern and scalloped edge evoke the dynamism of the city while referencing the delicacy of a stylized flower. The blue shade and transparency of the glass lend the piece a quality reminiscent of morning light streaming through interwar interiors in Warsaw or Vilnius. Each facet captures a moment of an era that sought modernity in clear lines and harmonious detail. The jardiniere may serve as a centerpiece on a console table in the living room, accompanied by chrome candlesticks or geometric figurines from the period. It would work well set atop an oak sideboard or a marble surface, where passing light will accentuate its color gradient. Spaces inspired by Art Deco or eclectic collector’s interiors would best showcase its architectural character. It can be paired with contrasting ceramics or single-stem flowers to highlight its geometric form.
