ABOUT PRODUCTID 20031
This sugar bowl from the 1930s, attributed to the Henneberg Brothers' workshop in Warsaw, is crafted from silver-plated brass. The form is characteristic of Art Deco: a rectangular body with softly rounded edges stands on four spherical feet, reinforcing a sense of geometric order. The flat lid, with its rounded sides, is topped with a small circular knob. The smooth surface is accented by a delicate, engraved floral motif on the front—a subtle decorative touch that does not disturb the simplicity of the piece. The finish is a muted, warm gold with a slightly matte sheen, showing areas of natural patina and oxidation typical of aged brass. Visible joints at the lid and base highlight the solidity of the construction. The overall condition is good for its age: minor scratches, discoloration, and patina are present, but there is no significant damage or evidence of repairs. This sugar bowl carries the voice of Polish Art Deco: disciplined form softened by gentle detailing and the nobility of its material. The rounded edges and geometric feet evoke the spirit of 1930s modernist Warsaw, where function and ornament met on neutral ground. The piece seems to whisper of morning tea amidst gleaming trays and porcelain, recalling an era when the ritual of serving sugar was an opportunity to discreetly display the host's taste. Its natural patina and traces of time lend it a quiet gravitas, as if it holds memories from several generations. It can be paired with porcelain cups in geometric patterns or simple glassware to highlight its modernist heritage.
