This 1930s sugar caster is an example of British Art Deco craftsmanship, combining hand-decorated glass with elements of silver-plated brass. The body, with a subtly flared base, presents a warm gradient of colors: sandy beige at the bottom, through soft orange and yellow, to a pale cream at the top. The matte to satin finish accentuates the gentle form and the subdued play of light on its surface. The central decorative motif is a hand-painted scene depicting a figure riding a camel among palm silhouettes in a desert landscape, executed in deep black and muted blue-violet tones, with careful attention to perspective and detail. The upper part features a pierced, silver-plated brass lid, cut in geometric and floral patterns, topped with a spherical finial and marked with visible hallmarks.
