This Moser vase from the 1930s, crafted in the renowned Czech manufactory in Karlovy Vary, is made of solid amethyst glass with an intense purple hue and a striking geometric silhouette. Its pronounced hexadecagonal, conical form broadens toward the base and is crowned with a wide, high-relief band of gilded oroplastics at the upper section. The gilded decoration, executed in detailed high relief, depicts an ancient or mythological hunting scene: figures of people and horses among fantastical creatures and trees, referencing motifs from ancient Near Eastern art—an iconographic choice favored by Art Deco designers. Sharp facets and a matte-to-satin finish amplify the interplay of light on the surface.
