ABOUT PRODUCTID 12552
This wall lamp is a quintessential example of 1950s Czechoslovak Art Deco lighting, rooted in functionalism and the expressive use of materials. The body is crafted from ebonite — a dense, glossy hard rubber with a distinctly deep black hue. The fixture takes on an elongated cylindrical shape with softly rounded ends, its linearity accentuated by a central shade of opaline white glass. The glass is smooth and shining, gently diffusing light, while the mounting of the shade is marked by a small, knurled metal adjustment knob, adding a utilitarian accent. End caps and the mounting base are also made of ebonite, reinforcing visual unity and providing subtle contrast with the milky glass. The design is pared down, with no ornamental details or additional color accents — every element serves its function with clarity. The lamp is in very good original condition; only minor traces of use are present on the ebonite and the metal knob. There are no major damages or signs of repair. This fixture speaks with the voice of mid-century architecture: a cool discipline of material and balanced geometry, telling the story of postwar modernism seeking new substances and simplicity. Ebonite, a material less commonly used than metal or wood, grants the lamp a reserved quality, while the opaline glass softens the strict blackness, inviting a gentle interplay of light on the wall
