This art glass ashtray, attributed to Josef Rozinek for Novy Bor and dating to the 1960s, is an outstanding example of mid-century Czech glasscraft. The piece is built around a thick-walled, sculptural form, with the interior suffused with radiant, transparent pink, enveloped by a band of vivid amber-orange and accented by subtle touches of olive-lime green especially toward the edges and base. Its surface features a highly polished, glossy finish that accentuates flowing, organic lines and asymmetric freeform geometry characteristic of Bohemian design from the 1960s. Broad, gently notched sides transition into harmoniously integrated grooves, lending a thoroughly sculptural dimension. The ashtray’s construction is solid and well-proportioned; the color gradation reveals expert hand-blown technique. The piece is preserved in excellent condition, free from chips, cracks, or visible cosmetic wear, with an immaculate original surface.
