Hand-formed art glass ashtray, designed by Josef Hospodka for Chribska Glassworks in the second half of the 1960s, exemplifies the signature style of mid-century Czech modernism. The piece features deep golden-yellow, amber-toned glass that organically transitions to clear along the undulating, biomorphic rims. Its freeform, sculptural bowl, with thick walls and a substantial clear base, embodies both technical mastery and the expressive glassmaking tradition of Bohemia. Color gradations range from goldenrod through amber to light reddish accents, especially where light bends across its rippled surface. The surface is highly glossy and smooth, reflecting the meticulous handwork.
