This artistic glass bowl was designed by Jaroslav Beranek for the Skrdlovice glassworks in Czechoslovakia, circa 1960. Hand-formed from multicolored glass, the bowl features a substantial, organic silhouette with undulating, irregular edges and a thick, solid base. Its color palette transitions from a warm amber-orange center to light olive green and subtle yellowish tones at the rim, resulting in a soft, pastel effect with pronounced depth and translucency. The surface is smooth and highly polished, while the base is ground and polished flat—hallmarks of 1960s Czech modernist glassmaking. The bowl is in very good condition, free from chips or cracks, and shows only minimal signs of age. Within this piece, one senses the spirit of 1960s Czech glassmakers, who approached their material with a sculptor’s resolve. Color flows seamlessly—amber and olive gently converging along the wavy rim, reflecting a taste for experimentation and nuanced color blending.
