ABOUT PRODUCTID 1905
This vase designed by Jaroslav Beranek for the Skrdlovice glassworks is a remarkable example of 1960s Czechoslovakian art glass. Its construction features a substantial, organic silhouette with a twisted, sculptural profile characteristic of mid-century modern aesthetics. The dominant cobalt blue at the top transitions subtly into a vibrant emerald green toward the base, where the glass becomes entirely clear, emphasizing the material's thickness and depth. Hand-forming gives rise to unique, asymmetrical contours and a dynamic, swirling pattern within the glass mass. The base is ground and polished flat, typical of high-quality art glass. The vase stands 19.5 cm tall, with both length and width measuring 9.5 cm. Its condition is excellent: there are no visible damages, chips, or restoration marks, and the original finish and vivid colors remain intact. The form of this vase tells a story of courage and glassmaking innovation in the 1960s—a piece that seems to flow, capturing both
