ABOUT PRODUCTID 36518
This artistic vase, designed by Kazimierz Krawczyk and produced by the Sudety Glassworks in the 1970s, is an exemplar of Polish mid-century modern glass. Its tall, slender silhouette rises to 45 cm, with a cylindrical body that gently expands into rounded shoulders and a wide, flared collar. The vase is crafted from colored glass, featuring a striking gradient: a deep, saturated red at the base transitions smoothly into a vibrant, luminous orange towards the top. The glossy, slightly transparent surface enhances the depth of color and reveals subtle shifts in hue depending on the light. Two decorative ring handles are placed symmetrically on the neck, adding a sculptural and playful detail. The base is flat and polished, attesting to traditional glassmaking techniques. The vase is preserved in very good condition, with no visible signs of wear or damage. This piece captures the spirit of 1970s Polish design, a decade defined by bold color choices and experimental forms. Its architectural, soaring shape speaks of a dialogue between craft and art, as if the glass strives to transcend the everyday and become a manifesto of its era. The interplay of reds and oranges evokes the dynamism of the time, while the luminous quality of the material means each morning’s light finds new reflections within. The delicate rings at the neck add a sense of weightlessness, as though the vase invites a celebration of light and color. It could be displayed on a console of light wood or marble, where its monumental form can stand out. The vase pairs well with other pieces of Polish design from the 1960s and 1970s, as well as with minimalist décor in shades of white, cream, or dark brown. In a contemporary setting, it can be matched with a single, tall branch or left empty as
