ABOUT PRODUCTID 2026
This Art Nouveau centerpiece, crafted around 1900 by the renowned Argentor manufactory in Vienna, exemplifies the refined metalwork of the turn of the 20th century. Made from silver-plated brass, it features a cool, mirror-like sheen and carefully balanced proportions: the wide bowl (26 cm in diameter) rests on three slender, turned columns with subtle ring decorations, all anchored by a broad, openwork base (16 cm diameter). Both the bowl and base are adorned with cutouts in flowing, organic Art Nouveau patterns and geometric motifs, characteristic of Viennese Secessionist design. The smooth, polished surface reflects light, accentuating the precise craftsmanship and harmonious symmetry. The construction is solid, with precisely fitted joints and no visible screws or fasteners. Condition is very good—only minor surface scratches and slight wear to the plating are visible, typical for its age; there are no dents or indications of major repairs. This centerpiece echoes the spirit of Secession-era Vienna—a time when fluid lines and botanical ornamentation transformed everyday objects into works of art. The silvery surface conjures the ambiance of early 20th-century salons, where the brilliance of metal and the rhythm of columns engaged in visual dialogue with the architecture and art of the period. The openwork details and slender form make the centerpiece appear almost weightless, as if it hovers above the table, telling a story of fascination with modernity and the pursuit of harmony between function and decoration. The centerpiece would suit a living or dining room styled in eclectic historicism, Art Nouveau, or classic elegance. It could be combined with Viennese porcelain, lead crystal, or minimalist accessories to highlight its decorative qualities. As a central accent on a
