ABOUT PRODUCTID 4771
This Art Nouveau decanter, designed by Albert Mayer for WMF around 1900 in Germany, stands approximately 14 cm high with a diameter of 6 cm and is signed with the renowned maker’s mark. The vessel features a vibrant, emerald green transparent glass body with a glossy finish, adorned with subtle, cut, swirling patterns that emphasize its fluid, organic form. Both the upper and lower sections, as well as the handle, are crafted from silver-plated pewter mounts, modeled in flowing, curvilinear lines characteristic of Art Nouveau. The mounts display reliefs—a prominent female profile with long, undulating hair and floral embellishments at the base, while the neck and handle are distinguished by openwork, sculptural ornamentation. The construction is harmonious, with a keen sense of proportion and meticulous attention to detail. The surface of the metal retains a satin sheen and delicate patina. The decanter is in very good condition, showing no visible damage or significant signs of use. This decanter echoes the spirit of the turn of the 20th century—an era when nature and imagination found a common language in Art Nouveau design. Its organic lines and luminous glass narrate the pursuit of beauty in everyday rituals. The silvered mounts, with their female profile and floral motifs, evoke salons where every detail mattered and a vessel became a small sculpture on the table. The piece seems to whisper of a time when serving a drink was a ritual, and each object carried artistic intent. The decanter may be showcased on a console or sideboard in the living room,
