This French Art Nouveau door knocker, dating from circa 1900, exemplifies the craftsmanship of the turn of the 20th century. Cast in gilded bronze, the piece features a harmonious, organic composition: three finely detailed hazelnuts are encircled by stylized hazel leaves, all executed in the flowing lines characteristic of the Art Nouveau movement. The handle itself is reminiscent of intertwined branches, integrating the botanical motif into the functional element.
