This Art Nouveau fruit basket dates from early 20th-century Germany and is crafted from chromed brass and glass. Its round form features characteristic Jugendstil openwork: the metal rim is pierced with rhythmic rectangular cutouts and linear festoon motifs, lending the entire piece a sense of visual lightness. The moveable handle – attached with slender, visible rivets – bears additional geometric perforations, a testament to careful handcraft. Inside, a removable crystal-clear glass liner forms an elegant and functional insert; its centerpiece is a vibrant transfer decoration: a circular, black-and-white floral wreath, embellished with red roses, green leaves, and subtle archival hues of yellow and blue. The rim and base have no separate feet; the silhouette is marked by seamless lines punctuated only by the openwork pattern.
