ABOUT PRODUCTID 23383
This grappa set, originating from around 1900, is an example of Austrian craftsmanship from the Art Nouveau era. Made of brass, originally silver-plated with visible traces of gilding, the set includes a slender decanter and six small cups arranged on a decorative stand. The centerpiece is the decanter, surrounded by cups held in gracefully curved, organic mounts. The ensemble is adorned with motifs of vine branches and leaves, clusters of grapes crafted from green glass, and a finely detailed lark perched on the handle. The set measures 22.5 cm in height, 16 cm in width, and 13 cm in depth. Both the decanter and cups feature engraved bands with botanical patterns, while the surface displays a warm, matte golden tone with subtle patina and light oxidation typical of its age. The construction is solid, with soldered joints and carefully executed details. The set is in good condition, with some localized wear to the gilding and silvering and minor signs of use, but no major damage. All decorative elements appear authentic and original to the period. This set tells the story of the turn of the 20th century—a time when Art Nouveau flourished in Austria. Organic lines, delicate botanical motifs, and the presence of the lark on the handle evoke the feeling of a garden where craftsmanship intertwines with nature
