This rectangular Art Nouveau humidor, crafted by WuMAK (a branch of WMF) in Germany at the dawn of the 20th century, is distinguished by its antique brass construction and wooden interior. The lid features a hammered oval medallion encircled by a pronounced laurel wreath in high relief, offset by smooth corners decorated with small, round brass rivets. The box’s sides are adorned with linear, stylized Art Nouveau ornamentation, while the softly rounded handles are seamlessly integrated into the robust form. Edges and joints are mechanically precise, a hallmark of early industrial production typical for WMF. The surface displays a warm, matte old-gold hue, interspersed with darker patina, minor scratches, spots, and gentle abrasions revealing the passage of time.
