This Art Nouveau money box, designed in the shape of a birdhouse, was manufactured by WMF in Württemberg around 1900 and exemplifies the era’s refined metalworking tradition. Made of silver-plated pewter, the object features fluid, organic contouring typical of Art Nouveau: the main body mimics wood grain, while the base branches out into four stylized apple tree legs. A three-dimensional lark perches on the front, complemented by raised floral and leaf motifs at the base. The silver surface is matte-satin, displaying natural tonal transitions from bright silver at the peaks to deeper grays in the recessed decorations and engravings.
