This round enameled pill box, created in the early 20th century within the Austro-Hungarian Empire, is crafted from silver-plated alpacca (nickel silver). The lid is finished with a glossy, cobalt-blue enamel reminiscent of glass, its surface catching and reflecting light. At the center stands a hand-painted floral bouquet: a large white flower with a subtle celadon-green core, surrounded by smaller blue and white blossoms and delicate foliage. A slim white enameled line and a metallic rim complete the lid’s border. The body and underside also feature the mellow tone of silver-plated nickel alloy, with classic proportions that hint at late Victorian or early Art Nouveau tendencies. Inside, the box is fully gilded, offering a warm, vivid contrast to the cooler external palette. The hinge and clasp are small and visually discreet, emphasizing function and restraint typical of the period’s craftsmanship.
