ABOUT PRODUCTID 11679
This late 19th-century Art Nouveau platter, crafted in the Warsaw atelier of Bracia Zolberg, exemplifies Polish metalwork from the Secessionist era. Made of silver-plated and gilded brass, the piece displays an asymmetrical silhouette with two openwork handles seamlessly integrated into the undulating rim. Its focal point is a relief of a woman's face, framed by long, swirling hair and flowers, set among flowing, plant-inspired motifs characteristic of the Art Nouveau style. The color palette reveals a warm, rich gold with subtle patina, shifting between matte and satin sheen, especially on the raised areas. The sharply defined details and fluid decorative transitions highlight the quality of the craftsmanship. The surface shows fine scratches, minor discolorations, and gentle wear to the gilding on prominent parts, attesting to the object's authenticity and age. The construction remains solid, with no cracks or major dents, and the handles are harmoniously integrated. The platter has been preserved in very good condition, bearing only minor signs of use typical for the late 19th century. The form of this platter seems to quietly narrate the spirit of the Belle Époque, evoking a time when applied arts emphasized sensual lines and organic inspirations from nature. The woman's relief, enveloped in gold and blossoms, recalls the era's fascination with natural beauty and a pursuit of artistic synthesis, so characteristic of the turn of the century. The metal appears to flow, as if animated by the rhythm of Art Nouveau motifs, each detail a subtle reminder of the refined tastes of Warsaw's historic salons. The platter can be displayed on a console in a living room or library, where it becomes a subtle historic accent. It pairs well with a period wooden sideboard or a marble tabletop, and may be complemented by other Art Nouveau objects—such as colored glass v
