ABOUT PRODUCTID 19873
The 'Aldona' sugar bowl is a ceramic piece from 1960s Poland, likely produced by the Ćmielów manufactory. Its construction features a low, rounded body with a gently domed lid topped by a pierced handle. Crafted in warm, ivory-toned ceramic, the surface is coated in a glossy glaze. Hand-painted floral and botanical motifs—subtly rendered in shades of rose, green, brown, and black—are arranged asymmetrically, with fine contours and delicate shading. The rim is edged with a slender gold band, softly worn in places, emphasizing its vintage provenance. The bowl’s surface displays a fine network of glaze crazing (crackle) and occasional discoloration, attesting to its age. The overall condition is very good, with no major damage—only natural traces of patina and use characteristic for vintage ceramics. This sugar bowl carries the quiet resonance of mid-century parlors and bedrooms, where daily rituals were wrapped in attention to detail. The fluid silhouette and unhurried rhythm of Art Nouveau-inspired ornament evoke the early twentieth-century atmosphere, when everyday objects were meant to serve the senses as much as their function. The gold rim glimmers with the light of past decades, while the network of craquelure tells of time’s passage, preserving echoes of past conversations and gestures. It is a vessel that softly recalls the ritual of safeguarding small treasures—with respect for the ordinary. The Aldona sugar bowl would complement a sideboard or console in the living room, providing a subtle accent against wood or marble. It can be paired with other decorative porcelains or period glass, as well as surrounded by potted plants and natural-texture textiles. Collectors' interiors inspired by Art Nouveau, as well as eclectic spaces blending different
