ABOUT PRODUCTID 38267
This Art Nouveau sugar bowl, dating from around 1900 and likely produced by WMF in Germany, is a compelling example of Jugendstil metalwork. Crafted from silver-plated brass with a gilded interior, the piece features a harmonious rounded body and two ornate handles with flowing, organic lines reminiscent of stylized plant forms. The surface finish is predominantly satin, displaying gentle, semi-matte reflections and a subtle, warm patina; raised decorative details and the sculpted finial atop the domed lid catch the light with a slightly glossier sheen. A decorative frieze of repeating 'X' motifs and horizontal ribbing encircles the upper body, adding textural and visual interest. The proportions are well-balanced, with a softly curved body, a subtly flared base, and symmetrical handles, maintaining stylistic unity throughout. The sugar bowl remains in very good condition, with original period details preserved and no visible damage or signs of restoration
