ABOUT PRODUCTID 11684
This Art Nouveau sugar bowl, produced by WMF in the early 20th century, exemplifies German metalwork of the era, combining a robust, patinated silver-plated brass body with intricate openwork botanical ornamentation. Handles take on organic, scroll-like forms, while the whole piece stands on three stylized, curved legs adorned with additional decorative flourishes. The metal surface alternates between matte and polished sections, emphasizing the depth of the ornamentation, and the precise details attest to the high standard of craftsmanship typical of WMF. Airy lines, openwork, and botanical motifs speak of an era in which art permeated daily life. The green liner, glimpsed through the metal ornamentation, suggests a garden enclosed in silver—each gesture of serving sugar becomes part of an Art Nouveau ritual. This type of sugar bowl may be displayed on a classic sideboard in a living room or set on a dining table, where, paired with period porcelain and silver cutlery, it highlights a historically inspired arrangement. It would also work as a standalone accent in a contemporary interior, where it contrasts with minimalist forms, or alongside glass and dark wood to bring
