ABOUT PRODUCTID 13334
This Art Nouveau style tea canister from Sweden, dating to the 1950s, reflects refined decorative craftsmanship distinctive of its era. The canister's body is made from frosted, matte glass with a cool, soft greenish hue, highlighted by hand-painted botanical motifs. Vibrant green leaves and red berries, connected by stylized gold-brown stems, form a dynamic, lattice-like pattern reminiscent of Art Nouveau organic geometries. The satin surface diffuses light gently and enhances the delicate pastel colors. A domed, silver-plated (likely nickel-plated) brass lid, topped with a simple turned finial, completes the form. The harmoniously proportioned silhouette features a slightly rounded, massive body with smooth sides and a subtly tapered base. The canister is in very good condition, free from cracks or major wear, with only minor traces of use and a natural patina on the metal lid. This vessel echoes the spirit of postwar Scandinavia, looking back towards the late nineteenth century while expressing the 1950s’ own decorative sensibility. The softly diffused light across the frosted glass and the hand-painted floral details conjure a sense of intimacy and nostalgia, as if each leaf and berry recalled a cherished garden, translated onto a daily object. The metal lid, bearing gentle signs of time, evokes a sense of enduring craftsmanship, allowing the presence of decades to be subtly felt. The canister can be displayed in a kitchen, dining room or living area—as a focal point on a credenza, vanity, or vintage shelf. For maximum effect, it may be paired with
