ABOUT PRODUCTID 2218
This three-part centerpiece dish was crafted around 1900 in the Vienna workshop of Albrecht Kohler. The construction features a base of brass, silver-plated to achieve a cool, subtly satiny sheen with gentle warmth. Its design takes the form of three interlinked leaves, each with undulating, irregular edges and pronounced veins—a direct reference to the organic motifs of Art Nouveau. The central handle, shaped from two intertwined branch-like elements and adorned with delicate leaves and buds, arches elegantly over the dish. Supported by three spherical feet, the vessel is slightly elevated above the tabletop, creating a sense of lightness and poise. The proportions are harmonious, and the finish is meticulously executed, with seamless joints and finely rendered details. The condition is excellent: the silver plating is even and lustrous, with only minimal signs of age and no dents or losses. Kohler’s Art Nouveau centerpiece dish conjures the spirit of fin-de-siècle Vienna—a time when applied arts drew inspiration from nature and craftsmanship became a vessel for artistic ideals. Its organic silhouette and intricate details seem to narrate a search for harmony between nature and urban sophistication. The
