This Art Nouveau tray from 1920s Germany combines glazed ceramic with silvered brass. The oval form is accentuated by two symmetrical, tubular handles crafted from matte-finished brass, seamlessly integrated with the round frame. The central portion is made of smooth, glossy ceramic, hand-decorated with a stylized motif of three pears surrounded by leaves and branches. The composition is rendered in cool shades of grey and white, with soft tonal transitions and delicate gradients, imparting a lightness characteristic of the Art Nouveau style. The tray bears the mark of the Grünstadt manufactory.
