This vase, designed by Jerzy Słuczan-Orkusz for the Kraków Institute of Glass in the 1970s, is crafted from deep olive-green glass that fades gently from a lighter yellow-green at the rim to a more saturated, darker base. The weighted cylindrical form with straight, balanced proportions serves as a stage for three applied, elongated glass threads that spiral and undulate organically along the sides—each ending in a distinctive swirling motif. The glass surface combines a semi-gloss finish that softly reflects light, highlighting both the richness of color and the smooth body contrasted by the tactile, raised relief of the decorative applications. Patina is visible in the form of minor scratches and wear consistent with age. One of the decorative spiral elements is incomplete; however, the vase maintains its full functionality and sculptural complexity. Condition: worn, with a small loss in one of the spiral decorations, age-typical marks.This object’s form and details evoke the voice of late Polish modernism, interwoven subtly with Art Nouveau inspirations.
