ABOUT PRODUCTID 4179
This Art Nouveau vase, crafted from shaded and ribbed glass, was produced around 1900 by the renowned Wilhelm Kralik glassworks in what was then Austro-Hungary (now the Czech Republic). Its organic silhouette—featuring a slender, elongated neck and a bulbous base—echoes the natural forms celebrated by the Art Nouveau movement. Standing 32 cm tall with a 12.5 cm diameter, the vase’s surface is vertically fluted, while the striking color gradient flows from deep, cobalt blue at the neck to a warm straw-yellow at the base, highlighting both the lightness of form and the depth of the material. The rim is precisely cut and polished. Condition: excellent, with no visible damage, chips, or evidence of restoration. This vase tells the story of a fin-de-siècle era when artisanal mastery and fascination with botany merged in objects with near-sculptural presence. Its form, transitioning fluidly from a delicate neck to a rounded body, reads as a dialogue between glass and nature—capturing a gourd’s growth in a single moment, with colors reflecting the changing light of day. The fluted surface plays with reflections, accentuating the interplay
