This Art Nouveau vase, produced circa 1900 by the Wilhelm Kralik glassworks in what was then Austria-Hungary (now the Czech Republic), is a refined example of early 20th-century craftsmanship. The form features an elongated, slender neck flowing seamlessly into a rounded, gourd-like body, topped with a precisely cut and polished rim. The color transitions organically from a deep, saturated cobalt blue at the neck, through a warm straw-yellow, to an almost transparent base, reinforcing the naturalistic inspiration of the design. The high-gloss glass surface is pronouncedly vertically ribbed, imparting a tactile, sculptural quality and enhancing the interplay of light and shadow. Measuring 32 cm in height and 12.5 cm in diameter, the vase stands on a subtly raised, circular foot for added stability. Preserved in excellent condition, it displays no visible damage, chips, or restoration.The vase speaks in the language of Art Nouveau—a period when fascination with the botanical world and organic forms found their way into everyday objects.
