ABOUT PRODUCTID 3959
This Art Nouveau vase from Novosad & syn glassworks in Harrachov, dating from 1900–1905, exemplifies early 20th-century glass artistry. Measuring 30.5 cm in height and 16.5 cm in diameter, it is crafted from shaded glass in a deep ruby red, with the hue subtly transitioning from the base towards the slender neck. The body’s bulbous profile and lens-cut, polished base express harmonious Art Nouveau proportions. The most distinctive feature is the elaborate silver overlay, galvanically applied and formed into fluid, organic lines and stylized plant motifs, further enhanced by fine engravings and a prominent monogram. The matte-satin finish of the silver contrasts with the glossy glass surface, highlighting the quality of both materials and execution. The vase is in excellent condition, with no chips or damage to the glass and no visible signs of wear to the silver embellishment. This piece speaks in the language of Art Nouveau—a time when nature and line merged in liberated ornamentation. The fluidity of the silver overlay appears to flow into the glass itself, as if the vase breathes with the rhythm of turn-of-the-century Europe, where artistic craftsmanship sought harmony with nature. The ruby depth of the glass captures and diffuses light in subtle reflections and shadows, while the engraved silver band, complete with monogram, evokes the individuality of its original owner—making this vase not only a decorative object but also a silent witness to a vanished era. For interior arrangements, the vase may be displayed on a marble console or a low sideboard in light wood, where natural light accentuates the glass’s gradient and the intricate silverwork. It can be paired with other Art Nouveau objects or, for contrast, with modern
