This faceted crystal water carafe was produced by the esteemed Moser glassworks in Karlovy Vary (then Czechoslovakia) in the early twentieth century. Its standout feature is a striking color gradient, moving from a deep, cool-toned cobalt blue at the neck and broad shoulders through to a completely clear base. The carafe takes on a sharply geometric silhouette, with vertical, faceted cut panels on the body – a hallmark of late Art Nouveau approaching early Art Deco sensibilities. The slender neck gently flares to a wider, more stable foot, while the entire glossy surface captures and reflects light to emphasize every detail of the cut. The manufacturer's mark is visible on the base. The piece remains in excellent preserved condition, showing no visible chips, cracks, or traces of wear; the surface is smooth, lustrous, and patina-free.This carafe narrates the birth of European modernism, standing at the crossroads of Art Nouveau and early Art Deco, when everyday objects aspired to be both functional and decorative.
