This vintage ashtray by Walther-Glass from the 1970s exemplifies mid-century modern design through a bold interplay of materials and tactile contrasts. The body, formed from thick, clear crystal, is shaped into a square with rounded corners and soft edges that emphasize the 'ice glass' texture—an irregularly rippled, shimmering surface diffusing light in all directions. Four dedicated notches, one on each side, allow for convenient placement of cigarettes or cigars, highlighting function as integral to form. The crystal insert is firmly set within an angular frame of warm, cognac-colored natural leather, whose subtle satin sheen and smooth feel provide a visual and tactile counterpoint to the cool glass.
