ABOUT PRODUCTID 14905
This hand-formed ashtray from the Venetian island of Murano, produced in the 1970s, is crafted from layered glass and shaped into a stylized maple leaf. Its structure is dominated by deep cobalt blue, highlighted by a thick band of transparent glass encircling the rim and extending into sculpted points and edges. The sharp color transitions between the intense blue core and the crystal-clear glass lend a multi-dimensional visual effect and reinforce the organic, mid-century modern character of the piece. The glossy and perfectly smooth surface fully reflects light, imbuing the form with remarkable fluidity and emphasizing its dynamic contours. Asymmetrical folds and a rolling, undulating edge, together with a substantial, slightly concave base, exemplify the Murano studio glass tradition. The piece is solid and heavy, made entirely of glass, with no metal fittings. Dimensions: height 10 cm, width 21 cm, depth 16 cm, base diameter 6 cm. In very good condition, showing only minor superficial scratches typical for the age, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. This ashtray bears witness to the creative spirit of 1970s Italy
