This collectible Attar perfume bottle, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, is a rare testament to Oriental craftsmanship, most likely originating from Persia (Iran) or the Indian subcontinent. Its squat, low-slung form is assembled from finely joined plates of natural camel bone, presenting a warm, creamy ivory base with subtle yellow undertones. The gently matte surface is richly adorned with intricate, hand-painted botanical and geometric motifs in deep cobalt blue, black, and hints of reddish-brown, especially visible on the stopper. The tall, tapering stopper—serving as an applicator—mirrors the bottle’s decoration, seamlessly continuing the ornamental narrative.
